incredible cavern and covers a distance of about a half-mile. Adventure Tours and zip lines are also
available for those who are even more daring.

With all the Alamo City has to offer you would expect a wide range of accommodations. San Antonio
doesn't disappoint in this category, as you can easily find a nice variety of lodging options that will
perfectly compliment your family vacation. Whether you are looking for a fashionable resort setting,
lodging right along the River Walk, or simply a stay that is near attractions such as Six Flags and Sea
World, San Antonio’s long list of lodging choices ensures you can find a stay with just the right
combination of amenities you need. All things considered, its hard to go wrong with a family trip to San
Antonio -- a great setting, reasonably priced, lots to see and do and fun for the whole family.
San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas, and the third
largest metropolitan area (behind Dallas and Houston). The
Battle of the Alamo took place here in 1836, as Texas fought
for independence from Mexico, so there is a great deal of
history here. Because of this, San Antonio provides
vacationers a big city atmosphere that is rich with cultural
history, and a wide range of activities to choose from.

This area is a favorite vacation spot for many. Whether its
taking a short weekend trip or for a full-length family vacation,
San Antonio has much to offer. Here are some fun things to
see and do while visiting here.

The River Walk
No visit to San Antonio is complete without visiting the famous
River Walk. It is located along the San Antonio River where it
winds through central San Antonio. Lined with shops,
restaurants and lush vegetation you can take a stroll along
the river or hire a boat and take in the views as you motor
along on a guided tour.
The Alamo
All of us have heard the famous words
"Remember the Alamo," so be sure and see this
during your visit. Take a self-guided tour through
the old mission and barracks and try to imagine
what it must have been like during this historic
battle. Capture some good photo opportunities
with your children standing by some of the old
cannons and other historic items you will see as
you tour the old mission compound.
