Washington, D.C. offers a wide
range of options for both a fun
and educational family vacation.
Old and young alike will be thrilled
by all of the spectacular sights.
Washington D.C. is loaded with
interesting buildings, statues,
monuments and museums. Catch
a glimpse of the White House, the
Capitol building and many other
unique structures located here.
The fun and unique educational
opportunities found here are sure
to create life-long memories.
Trying to see all of the different monuments and
attractions on your own can be an incredibly tiring and
daunting task. Fortunately there are sightseeing tours
and agencies available that make all of this incredibly
simple. One such company that we've come across
that does just that is Vacations Made Easy.

Their
DC in a Day tour offers a full day of sightseeing,
featuring all of the major and popular sites in the city.
This tour stops at the White House Visitors Center,
Ford's Theatre, Petersen House, the World War II
Memorial, American History Museum, the U.S. Capitol,
and the
National Air and Space Museum. In addition to
these stops, you will see the monuments, federal
buildings, and other Washington, D.C. landmarks. The
tour is fully guided and narrated and shows you the
best of the city, all in one day. This tour can also be
combined with a Mt. Vernon tour and lodging in the
Washington D.C. Sightseeing Tour Package.

Another great tour option that they offer is a trolley
tour that allows you a day of hop on/hop off access.
The
Old Town Trolley Narrated Tour provides
all-day trolley access along with a two hour narrated
tour. The trolley stops at 17 different locations in
Washington, D.C., including the monuments, White
House Visitors Center, U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian
museums, and the National Zoo. This tour is great for
visitors who want to spend as much time as they want
at each attraction without feeling rushed by a
structured tour.

However, there is more to Washington, D.C. than just
sightseeing.  Six Flags
theme park offers many thrilling
rides and a large selection of family rides and some
geared especially for the younger children in a special
kids section of the park. Summer temperatures can
sometimes get a bit warm, so the neighboring water
park Hurricane Harbor is a great way to cool off. For
an evening with a spectacular dinner and show,
Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament is hard to
beat and will be a big hit with the entire family. Located
in nearby Hanover, Maryland, this attraction features a
four-course medieval feast served during a jousting
tournament. Cheer on your favorite knight as you
enjoy the tournament and have a great meal together
with your family.

There is always something happening in the DC area
and often during the summer and on holidays there
are some very special events. However, whether its a
visit here to celebrate a special time like on
Independence Day or to vacation here at other times
of the year, there is always much to see and do.
Maybe Washington D.C. is a place to consider for your
next family vacation destination. It has much to offer
and much of what you will find here is unique to just
this area. Have fun!
